Came all the way from the UK and this was worth every rupee. Private houseboat for two nights, the crew cooked the most delicious karimeen fish fry, and the nights anchored near the village were incredibly peaceful.

How do I book a houseboat in Alleppey?+

What is the difference between a private and sharing houseboat?+
A private houseboat means you charter the entire boat for your group — full privacy, your own schedule, all bedrooms are yours. A sharing houseboat means you book a private cabin (with attached bathroom) on a larger boat and share the living area, dining room, and sundeck with other travellers. Sharing is significantly cheaper per person.
Are meals included in the houseboat price?+
Yes — all our houseboat packages include meals cooked fresh by your onboard chef. For an overnight stay this typically includes a welcome drink, Kerala lunch, evening snacks & tea, dinner, and breakfast the next morning. Dietary preferences are accommodated with 1 day's notice.
What is the best time to visit Alleppey?+
October to February is ideal — the weather is cool, skies are clear, and conditions are perfect for houseboat cruises and kayaking. March to May is warm but good for sunrise kayaking. June to September is monsoon season — the backwaters are beautifully lush and green, and there are far fewer tourists. The famous Nehru Trophy Boat Race happens every August.
Is it safe for children and non-swimmers?+
Yes. All our boats are equipped with certified life jackets for every passenger, including children's sizes. Our crew are trained in water safety. Children below 5 years are complimentary on houseboat stays. We recommend informing us in advance if you have young children or non-swimmers so we can take extra precautions.
What time is check-in and check-out for houseboats?+
For overnight stays, check-in is at 12:00 PM – 1:00 PM and check-out is at 9:00 AM the following morning. For sharing houseboats, check-in is at 1:30–2:00 PM and check-out is at 8:30 AM. Day cruises typically run from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Please arrive on time as the boat departs on schedule.
How far is the houseboat jetty from Alleppey town?+
Our main boarding jetty is approximately 3–4 km from Alleppey (Alappuzha) town centre and about 3 km from the railway station. We can arrange pickup from the railway station or bus stand for a small fee — just mention it when you book. Nearest airport is Cochin International, about 75 km away (1.5 hr drive).
